Following the 6th grade parent conferences from last week, TINFA also resumed middle school visits for the 6th graders at our partner schools after a two-year hiatus. With the Olintepeque district, the 6th grade students went to two of their neighborhood middle schools. The district of El Cantel took a different approach when the coordinator of the Ministry of Education proposed a forum rather than individual school visits. The event was a great success with 90% of all the 6th graders at the six TINFA partner schools of the district attending.
6th Grade Parent Conferences Resume!
Pre-COVID, TINFA organized parent conferences and middle school visits for the 6th graders to encourage middle school attendance. After a 2-year break due to COVID, we are excited that both activities have resumed! For the first time, the Ministry of Education of two districts are partnering with TINFA to be actively involved with the conferences this year.

Creativity in Teaching: Maestros Modelos Workshop #3
The third workshop organized by the “Maestros Modelos” took place on July 5th. Over 80 teachers from current and past partner schools participated in the third workshop, led by Roseli Morales on the creative use of didactical materials. Despite being virtual, this workshop was particularly hands on, full of participation and educational games for teachers to use in their classrooms.
