A Local Initiative

One of the things that makes the TINFA program especially effective and relevant is our tradition of continuously evaluating, improving, and enhancing our design. This year, in addition to helping teachers buy their own laptops, which they can take home and access 24X7, we are helping our local Guatemala consultant, Cesar Puac, start a private consulting business. The business plan is to offer an advanced course to schools and teachers who have completed a first TINFA course in using technology, so teachers can improve their skills and add to the tools they use in the classroom.

We are supporting him in this new venture by subsidizing the expenses for participating teachers. Ultimately, we hope that the business will thrive on its own and become a stand-alone enterprise for spreading technology and information locally.

Classes are already underway and are being very well received.
