Founding Story
The idea of TINFA started when Margarita and Emma served as United Nations Volunteers in Lao PDR. As computer consultants to the United Nations Development Program, they worked with local provincial government officials in finding ways to best take advantage of current technology. This experience made it clear to both Margarita and Emma that their education was a real gift, and that many people were hungry to learn, if only they had the opportunity.
After returning to the United States, Margarita and Emma wanted to continue this effort of supporting and providing the necessary tools to people who do not have access to them. This is how TINFA started.
