New Schools, New Program

We connect online with schools for the local equipment hand-off.

In June, we reported on the achievements of 48 teachers who completed their initial training and received their TINFA “diplomas.” In August and September we started delivering equipment and training with seven new schools and 37 new teachers. We delivered equipment for the first two schools, Escuela Tuipox and Escuela Los Cayax. The community of parents, teachers, the principal, and representatives of the Ministry of Education all joined and were very enthusiastic.

The best part of these ceremonies is interacting with the young students.

Each school got a projector and a large TV, speakers, software licenses and, of course, an internet connection.

“Thanks, TINFA, for being part of our education.”

Each participating teacher got a $300 to $340 subsidy to buy a computer or a projector for their classroom, as we continue our new practice of making computers the property of the teachers, allowing them full access to train and develop their skills outside of school hours.

And they’ll be able to take them home to speed their progress!
