The Olympics just ended. They provided so many inspirational moments. Here are a few, that translate to the spirit of our teachers, students and supporters.
Thrive for excellence.
Kerri Walsh Jennings, the Beach Volleyball champion has competed for over 16 years , participated in 5 Olympics and has won 3 gold medals. Before her semifinal match in Rio with April Ross and against the Brazilian team Agatha/Barbara, she had only lost a total of 2 sets in the past 4 Olympics, and had never lost a match! You could assume that loosing against the Brazilian team would have been a major upset, as they were the favorite for gold at this Olympics. Seeing her focus, energy and thrive in any match, and particularly in the bronze medal match against another Brazilian pair (Larissa/Talita) was so impressive. As her team partner Ross says in this interview “She is never satisfied. She is always trying to get better. She is the best player in the world, and still is trying to get better, thriving for excellence”. That drive is impressive and so inspiring. Thank you Kerri!

Have a great spirit.
Pierre De Coubertin, founder of the International Olympic game said “The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but taking part; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well.”. Not all athletes would agree with this quote, but certainly the 5,000 meter competitors Nikki Hamblin (New Zealand) and Abbey D'Agostino (USA) would, after they bumped into each other, tumbled, and helped each other over the finish line. http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/us-runner-falls-hard-runs-mile-finish-race . Great spirits ladies!
Enjoy the ride.
Usein Bolt is showing so many ways how much he enjoys what he is doing. A favorite is the look in between him and Andre DeGrasse in the 200m semifinal qualifier. http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/bolt-de-grasse-move-200m-finals-few-smiles
