It has been an exciting couple of weeks for TINFA and our Guatemalan community. 10 new schools in the Quetzaltenango region became TINFA partners for the 2022 academic year. This means each school with over 200 students now has TINFA technology kits consisting of 2 laptops, 2 projectors and internet connection for 12 months. In addition, educators of 4th, 5th and 6th grade will participate in technical training on how to use this technology, and curriculum building training on how to incorporate it in their lesson plans in the classroom.
Typically, our partnership with selected schools begins with equipment handoff at the start of the school year, in February. This year the uncertainty around availability of technology kits and school closures prompted us to move this milepost to the end of the academic year for most of the schools, so that we would be sure that all will be ready to start activities right at the beginning of the school year. T
Witnessing and hearing the enthusiasm of all the teachers and students makes us excited about TINFA’s technology program and how it will help enhance learning in the community. Thank you to our generous supporters without whom we could not continue doing this important work!
We will add 2 new school partners early next year : Elementary schools Chuisuc and Xejuyub. And we will do an equipment handoff with these schools in January. Details of the events can be see here. We’d love to have you join!
