Prior to the support of TINFA, Mrs. Maria del Socorro Mejia’s 6th grade students in rural Guatemala had no access to modern education tools. Now that the school received training, support and equipment from TINFA, teachers and students have access to audio-visual learning and a wide choice of computer-based learning tools which has helped greatly to make the learning process more attractive, exiting and useful for the children.
But even more special, Maria’s school was able to make dramatic progress with children that have learning disabilities. Thanks to access to specialized computer-based learning, César Garcia, a kid with learning disabilities and a motor skills disorder, has improved his interaction and participation in school and even more importantly developed reading comprehension skills, a pre-requisite to further learning and development.
