TINFA is pleased to announce that its partnership with Rotary International Clubs in the Seattle area and in Guatemala has resulted in a grant that will fund the equipment for four new schools in the Quetzaltenango Department of Guatemala. The elementary schools of Caton Belen, Calawache, Estancia y Piñales, and Las Marias will each receive a computer kit. 28 teachers, in all, will participate in a two-year training program to access content on the internet and develop skills and 21st century instructional materials for hundreds and ultimately thousands of students.
This grant is the largest of 4 Rotary grants for schools participating in TINFA training and involves the widest participation, including the Rotary Club of Retalhuleu, Guatemala, and lead club, University Sunrise Rotary as well as University Rotary, West Seattle Rotary, Ballard Rotary, Mill Creek Rotary, Seattle International District Rotary, Lake Union Rotary and University of Washington (Seattle) Rotaract.
